This Is Our Story

Welcome to Every Child is Your Child (ECIYC), a community group dedicated to ensuring the well-being, education, and empowerment of every child, particularly those living in challenging circumstances. We believe that every child deserves love, care, and the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.

ECIYC was founded with the vision of building a society where every child is valued, supported, and given equal opportunities to reach their full potential. We recognize the importance of nurturing the younger generation and the positive impact it can have on the entire community.

Direct provision is intended to provide for the welfare of asylum seekers and their families as they await decisions on their international protection applications in Ireland. Around 40% have been waiting for more than 5 years. Asylum seekers are forced to live on a weekly allowance of €38.80 per week and €29.80 per child per week. It is a huge burden and challenge for parents, and children, especially those of school-going age.

Educational Support: We are passionate about education and believe it is the key to unlocking a brighter future for children. Through our various initiatives, we aim to provide educational support, resources, and mentoring to children, ensuring they have access to quality education and the tools they need to succeed.

Back-to-School Campaigns: We understand the financial challenges faced by parents, particularly those in direct provision. Our back-to-school campaigns seek to alleviate the burden of school-related expenses by providing essential supplies, uniforms, and backpacks to children, enabling them to start the academic year with confidence.

Community Engagement: We actively engage with the community through events and programs that promote inclusivity, cultural diversity, and social integration. The annual Every Child Masquerade Ball is just one of the many ways we bring people together to celebrate the joy and resilience of childhood.
